Superintendent's Message
Budget Update -
March 5, 2010
The budget picture is starting to clear with the Joint Finance and Appropriation Committee's (JFAC) recommendation to the Idaho State Legislature on March 3. The Legislature still must approve the funding request, but at this point this appears to be a formality.
For school districts, the recommendation amounts to approximately an 8.5% reduction in state support for K-12 public schools, state wide. JFAC did not recommend the removal of ADA Protection. This protection assists school districts such as Lake Pend Oreille in planning, as well as addressing the issue of declining enrollment.

at Southside School
January 2010 - Construction is complete at Sagle School & teachers moved into their new classrooms over the break. At Kootenai School staff moved into Phase 1, which includes the new office area & some of the classrooms. Construction continues on the new gym and additional classrooms, with completion expected in the spring.
